Marketing Associate

The Marketing Associate reports to the Marketing Manager and works collaboratively with other RKA managers in leading the Company toward its long-term vision of being the preeminent transportation consulting firm. This role assists with the daily tasks associated with marketing. This is a non-exempt position and serves as an ambassador of the RKA brand to internal and external clients. The Marketing Associate may be assigned tasks and/or responsibilities beyond the scope outlined.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Expectations

  • — Plan marketing activities
  • — Write resumes, boilerplate information, project descriptions, etc.
  • — Work with technical staff to develop proposal sections and scopes of work
  • — Update social media information
  • — Update Web site information
  • — Coordinate specialized consultants (photographers, PR, etc.)
  • — Plan and coordinate special events
  • — Research target markets
  • — Assist with internal company communications, i.e. Company Newsletter
  • — Develop and create printed and digital marketing materials for website, proposals, presentations, email blasts, direct mail, newsletters, social networking, and collateral materials
  • — Actively involved in professional and community organizations, i.e. SMPS
  • — Assists in producing all RFP/RFQ packages to ensure accurate content, branding, formatting consistency, and compliance

Qualifications

Education:   Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications

Certification:   Preparation to earn the CPSM Certification and Social Media Certification, i.e. Hub Spot Academy

North Carolina Traffic Project Coordinator

The NC Traffic Project Coordinator works under the direction and guidance of the NC Traffic Public and Private Sector Leads and works collaboratively with other RKA associates toward its long-term vision of being the preeminent transportation consulting firm. This role performs the operations and tasks to support many company projects, public and private. This is an exempt position and serves as an ambassador of the RKA brand to internal and external clients.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Expectations

  • — Monitors production activity to ensure a controlled and timely flow of project timelines to meet project deadlines
  • — Troubleshoots and monitors potential scheduling problems, maintaining records and reports of timeline deficiencies
  • — Collaborates with NC Traffic teams and the corporate marketing group on writing and preparing proposals for NC traffic-related projects
  • — Provides aid in graphics for submittals
  • — Provides administrative support through data entry, preparing copies, and taking prints/projects to FedEx

Traffic Noise Analyst

This potion will be responsible for conducting noise analyses for transportation projects, primarily in support of Department of Transportation (DOT) projects.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Expectations

  • — Perform traffic noise analyses
  • — Prepare traffic noise reports

  • — Collect noise data in the field

Technical Associate

The Technical Associate works under the direction and guidance of the assigned Project or Department Manager and works collaboratively with other RKA associates in leading the Company toward its long-term vision of being the preeminent transportation consulting firm.  This role performs the operations and tasks necessary to support many Company projects, public and private. This may be an exempt or non-exempt position and serves as an ambassador of the RKA brand to internal and external clients.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Performs various engineering related calculations and analyses of information in the application of design criteria necessary to complete assigned projects.
  • Collaborates with CAD technicians, field technicians, designers, and other team personnel to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
  • Assists in estimating and tracking project costs.  The Technical Associate has a working knowledge of the proce­dures which are necessary to execute a sound and efficient project, with the ultimate goal of developing good project management techniques.
  • Coordinates the preparation of data tabulation/evaluation and reports.  Assists in coordination of report production and development of engineering designs and specifications. 
  • Supports the development of studies, and/or evaluations using various analytical software programs.
  • Assists with the development and production of project deliverables, including written documentation and graphics.
  • Performs quality control (QC) checks
  • Assists in pursuit of new clients and projects and helps build and foster relationships with existing clients.
  • Performs field assignments including site inspections.
  • Maintains field notes and photo documentation as required.

The Technical Associate may be assigned tasks and/or responsibilities beyond the descriptions or scope of the job.

 

Qualifications

Education:   Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and E.I. certificate in the state where this person’s work is primarily performed or an Associate’s Degree or Technical Certification in a related field.

Experience:   0 – 4 years of overall and progressively responsible experience with public and private sector projects, ideally in the A/E/C industry.

Skills:

  • Able to analyze, interpret, and present data.
  • Able to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Able to carry out multiple priorities simultaneously.
