Traffic Engineering

Ramey Kemp & Associates, Inc. offers professional traffic, transportation, parking, planning and engineering services to private real estate developers, public agencies, corporations, and educational and medical institutions. We support the development process from the conceptual design phase through the development of engineering plan specifications and cost estimating.

We perform 200-280 traffic studies per year in an area covering the Southeast United States. Our ability to work under various traffic impact studies guidelines has been aptly demonstrated by our work involving various DOTs, municipalities, and counties within this large region. The studies have ranged in size from small convenience stores to 1600-acre multi-use developments generating over 60,000 vehicle trips per day. Included in the preparation of the traffic impact studies have been intersection capacity analyses, coordinated signal system analyses, signal warrant studies, bicycle and pedestrian analyses, roundabout analyses, accident analysis, and gap analyses.

In conducting traffic analyses, we utilize the most current technology and software available, including Highway Capacity Software (Version 4.1), Synchro 7.0, TEAPAC, aaSIDRA (Version 1.0), and TRANSYT-7F (Version 9.1.) We also prepare signal timing plans, traffic signal designs, cable routing plans for signal coordination, and many other transportation related planning and design services.
